Maksim Shishov

I am a young artist based in Arkhangelsk, Russia. I am a member of Artists Trade Union of Russia. My art path started as an artist-in-residence at the Shanye Dreaming Art Gallery in Qionghai, Hainan Island, China from November 2018 to January 2019. During this time I created 3 sculptures called “WE ARE THE SAME” and 6 paintings (https://bitly.su/7gddT). One of the artworks called “SAY NO TO RACISM” subsequently got to the finale of Walter Koschatzky Art-Award 2019 which was held in Vienna, Austria. This painting was published in the online catalogue ( https://www.koschatzkykunstpreis.at/index_en.html) on page 92, and later sold on the day of the award ceremony. July 19-24, 2019, two of my paintings “Vessel” and “Exit” were placed on the exhibition called “Formation” that took place in the exhibition halls of Artists Trade Union of Russia in Arkhangelsk (https://bitly.su/Pq8RG). I was a participant of The Open Academy of the Estonian Academy of Arts (EKA) in the direction of Contemporary Art in August 2019.
