First edition of the scientific forum Age Open Science in Salamanca

Age Open Science

An expert's view

On 11 and 12 May 2022, the first edition of the scientific forum Age Open Science was held in Salamanca, where scientists and researchers at the forefront of studies on ageing and longevity filled the streets of the city to bring science closer to the people, developing meetings and interesting debates around the emblematic places such as the Paraninfo of the University of Salamanca, the Patio Chico of the Cathedral, Palacio de Anaya, next to the Palacio de Monterrey, Patio de Escuelas, Palacio de la Salina or the Cloister of the Colegio Arzobispo Fonseca.

We invite you to relive the interventions of prominent scientists and researchers who visited and were part of Age Open Science in Salamanca, among them, Juan Carlos Izpisúa, co-organiser of Age Open Science, and Pura Muñoz; the scientist Giovanna Mallucci and Manuel Serrano; Thomas Rando and Robin Franklin; Professor Kun Zhang and the biologist Vera Gorbunova; Cynthia Kenyon and Heinrich Jasper, director of Genentech Inc. and professor at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging; and the researcher Steve Horvath and the CNIO's scientific director, María Blasco.

This activity is part of the Interreg V-A Cooperation Programme, Spain-Portugal (POCTEP), 2014-2020, financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
