New launch: Researchers Blog

When Mariette DiChristina, editor-in-chief of the prestigious Scientific American magazine, asked her daughter - who was determined to expand her training in the field of scientific research -, the reason for her choice, she answered without hesitation: " It's very easy, Mom: for me, science is everything. And there is no science without investigation."

The increasing prosperity that, in planetary terms, humanity has reached in recent decades is undoubtedly the result of very important advances of a social and economic nature. And the extraordinary contribution of scientific advances, happily present in all fields of knowledge.

Such advances - so many amazing times - would never have been possible without the committed, silent and constant involvement of hundreds, thousands of researchers, capable of bravely taking on new challenges, of facing a task, which is inevitably marked by successes and errors, essential so that science advances at the service of a fuller, strengthened and balanced society.

But not always the community that benefits from scientific achievements knows how the process that led to their achievement should. And, for that reason, it does not always value in the necessary measure what it means and implies such a decisive contribution.

Hence, in the International Center on Ageing (CENIE) we wish to contribute to a better knowledge of each of the scientific research projects that make up our action.

For this we have created this RESEARCHERS BLOG, with the intention of serving as a "travel notebook" of a qualified and valuable itinerary, and also a permanent communication tool for society as a whole, convinced that there is no better way to appreciate something that from your knowledge.
