Envejecimiento en red, renovada plataforma colaborativa - CENIE, Interreg

The new Envejecimiento en Red website presents an update of its brand (EnR? |) and introduces new content and themes supported by a large number of visual, graphic and multimedia elements. Its objective is to become a collaborative web platform of reference as a meeting point science-society around aging and the elderly. A space for the interaction of the different agents interested in this area, heterogeneous and multidisciplinary.

This stage of EnR? | arises from the collaboration between the General Foundation CSIC and the Network Aging Laboratory of the Institute of Economics, Geography and Demography (IEGD) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), with the aim of being a benchmark in knowledge and proven, rigorous information and quality research and innovation in aging, both personal and population, with an important documentary and multimedia base.

Due to its importance, the phenomenon of aging of the population plays an important role in the different strategies and lines of action of the research and innovation policies in European and World economies. It is necessary for science to address the problems of the elderly population from different areas and to develop solutions, new structures, innovative models and to approach the private sector in order to transform the aging challenge into an opportunity, improving the quality of life of our society.

There are many agents that investigate, propose and experience solutions from the fields of health and medicine, disability and dependency, economics, services and social resources, infrastructures, technologies, demographics, etc. The EnR platform? aims to encourage the participation of all of them and give voice to professionals and scientists in this field, bring together their experiences, promote interdisciplinary solutions and impact on the benefit of society.

More specifically, the objectives of EnR? They are:

  • Promote informed discussion, based on scientific knowledge, on aspects related to aging.

  • Facilitate the integration of interdisciplinary activity around research and innovation in aging.

  • Provide information and resources of quality and usefulness to professionals interested in aging.

  • Promote areas of relationship around the challenge of aging that promote the participation of both public and private agents, giving voice to the interests of some and guiding the activity of others.

  • Disseminate and support research, experiences and innovative initiatives that help improve the quality of life of the elderly.

  • Defend a diverse, positive and participatory image of older people.

Among the contents that can be found on the EnR platform? there are current and opinion articles, interviews with experts, scientific divulgation reports, newsletters, infographic information, podcasts and a calendar of events. In addition, it has an advanced search engine that makes it easy to locate the content of interest.
