Jaime Gómez Ramírez

Jaime D. Gómez-Ramírez holds a PhD from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and has been an associate professor at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Dr. Gómez-Ramírez has previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Okayama University (Japan), Madison-Wisconsin University (US) and the University of Toronto -The Hospital for Sick Children (Canada). He is currently a Research Scientist at the CIEN Foundation. He also works as an expert for the European Commission on Horizon 2020 in the Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing challenge. His line of research combines the design of mathematical-computational models leading to a better understanding of transitions between healthy and pathological states. The underlying idea is to be able to model the functioning of the human brain as a complex, integrated and multilevel control mechanism.
