Biografía:
Elisenda Rentería is an economist from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and holds a PhD in Demography from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) in Brazil. She is currently a researcher and Deputy Director at the Centre d’Estudis Demogràfics (CED).

She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Economic Theory at the University of Barcelona (UB) and at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France. During her doctoral studies, she also worked as a Population Affairs Officer at the Population Division of the United Nations (2009).

Her research interests are diverse and include the study of ageing and intergenerational transfers, focusing on economic and care exchanges, as well as the study of socioeconomic differences in adult mortality and health, with particular attention to demographic methods.
