Biografía:
Pilar Zueras is a social demographer interested in the study of population ageing and in the well‑being and health of middle‑aged and older adults.
She holds a degree in Sociology and a PhD in Demography (2014, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona). She has been a predoctoral and visiting postdoctoral researcher at several institutions: the Institut National d’Études Démographiques (INED) in Paris (France), the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock (Germany), the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing (MICRA) at the University of Manchester (United Kingdom), and the Population Research Centre at the University of Groningen (Netherlands). She was a researcher at the Research Centre on Micro‑Social Change (MiSoC) of the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex (United Kingdom) between 2020 and 2022.
Since 2025, she has been a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) in Barcelona, where she co‑leads the research team on Care for Older People.
