Biografía

Hansa Tangmanpoowadol was born and raised in Bangkok. At the beginning of his photography career, he worked in a commercial section with Persona Studio, a top-ranked commercial photography studio at that time. Since his childhood, Hansa has always been fascinated with drawing and painting but his interest has primarily shifted to photography after having studied Photography and Film at Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep in 1986 and graduated in 1991. Even though he earned quite a lot from working as a commercial photographer, Hansa felt that the creation of work as an independent artist gave him more joy and pleasure in life, more importantly, he could submit works to competitions which could give fame and recognition both for himself and for Thailand. As such, Hansa was selected by the Federation of Photographic Associations of Thailand as Thailand’s Photographer of the Year in 2012. Hansa has still been working as a full-time photographer and painter until the present.
