Maricarmen. 83 años. Porta la cruz más importante de la romería de Pandorado en su pueblo Riello (León), con la misma determinación con la que vive cada día. En silencio y con fuerza avanza sin cambiar el rictus como si el peso no existiera. Su edad nunca fue un límite y lo demuestra que es una de las personas más activas del pueblo. Toda la vida fue la panadera, la que alimentó a generaciones con su trabajo y su madrugar y ahora, lo mismo asa las castañas del 'sábado castañero' que organiza a diario las partidas de cartas de las señoras, prepara la chocolatada el día de Reyes, ayuda en misa y mantiene la iglesia impecable y se disfraza en carnaval. Maricarmen es la panadera que nunca dejó de sostener a los suyos.
